Tasha Zimich
Tasha Zimich is a Canadian-based painter and illustrator with a penchant for painting designer toys. Simon Fraser University’s School for Contemporary Arts provided the critical academic basis that underpins her aesthetic sensibilities.
Her artworks navigate the spaces between cute and creepy, darkness and whimsy, and horror and humour. Often dealing with natural and organic themes, charming or striking characters, and visceral experiences.
Working in traditional media; acrylics on canvas and toys, ink on paper and mixed media pieces, Tasha employs a classical approach to art making. She has produced original artwork for events run by clients such as Kidrobot, Stan Lee x Toy Art Gallery, Vinyl Thoughts Nation, Doctors Without Borders: Art Without Borders and more. Tasha’s artwork can be found on magazine covers and features, in small press and self-publication, collaborating with other artists, and exhibited in galleries internationally.
